
Born in Watford to Nigerian parents, Joshua spent some of his early years in boarding school student , a time he credits with instilling discipline.
Before boxing, he worked as a bricklayer , he was naturally athletic , excelling in football and sprinting , running 100 meters in 11.6 seconds at just aged 15!
growing up in a rough neighbourhood, Joshua got it into trouble and was forced to wear an electrical tag following a spell on remand , which he described as a critical turning point
Joshua did not start boxing till 18 years old , after his cousin Gbenga Ileyemi took him to Finchley Amateur boxing club.
Boxing provided the discipline and focus needed to turn his life around .He quickly transitioned from a ‘tearaway with a difficult past ‘ to a dedicated athlete.
He then , went on to win his first world title {IBF heavyweight champion} In April 2016 by knocking Charles Martin out .
He later became a two-time unified WBO,IBF and WBA champion defeating rivals like Wladimir Klitschko and Andy Ruiz Jr.
