Despite being pulled from certain UK cinemas due to isolated incidents of violence during screenings, the film sparked nationwide conversation around media representation, race, youth violence, and censorship.

It also played a key role in spotlighting Black British talent, both in front of and behind the camera and opened doors for wider conversations about systemic issues affecting marginalised communities in the UK.
