Are you looking to break into the media industry but not sure where to start? Whether you’re leaving school, changing careers, or simply eager to learn, the Channel 4 Apprenticeship Programme could be your perfect first step.
The Channel 4 Apprenticeship Programme, part of their 4Skills initiative, is a paid, full-time opportunity for people looking to start a career in the media industry. Whether you’re interested in TV production, marketing, digital content, business, or technology, Channel 4 offers apprenticeships across a wide range of departments.
Apprentices are placed in one area of the business for 14 to 36 months, gaining real work experience while studying towards a nationally recognised qualification (ranging from Level 2 to Level 6). These roles are available in key locations such as London, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, and Glasgow.
The programme is designed to support individuals from all backgrounds, especially those who may not have considered a career in media before and helps them develop the skills, confidence, and connections needed to succeed.
To apply for a Channel 4 apprenticeship, you must:
Be 16 years or older (some roles may require you to be 18+)
Have the right to work in the UK
Be passionate, curious, and willing to learn. No media experience is needed
Meet any specific qualification requirements listed in the role (e.g. GCSEs or A-levels for certain apprenticeship schemes)
If shortlisted, you may be invited to complete assessments or attend an interview.
