The MU Summit Afterparty provided the perfect finale to what had already been an uplifting and inspiring day celebrating music, creativity, and talent development within the local music scene. Bringing together artists, industry professionals, music lovers, and supporters, the afterparty created an atmosphere that reflected the positive energy generated throughout the summit while providing a platform for both emerging and established talent.
The evening opened with a warm-up DJ set from Restoration Sound System, who delivered a strictly vinyl selection that showcased the rich heritage and diversity of underground music culture. Their carefully curated set journeyed through dub reggae, grime, drum and bass, and hip hop, creating the perfect soundtrack as attendees settled into the evening and prepared for the performances ahead.
One of the most exciting sections of the showcase featured a selection of emerging artists who had applied for the opportunity to perform. This segment highlighted the incredible depth of talent developing within the region and demonstrated the importance of creating accessible platforms for new artists to share their work.

A major highlight of the evening came from BBC Introducing, with host Connor “AON” Osborn curating a special showcase featuring artists who have submitted music through the BBC Introducing platform.
The performances demonstrated the calibre of talent emerging through the BBC Introducing network and reinforced the value of platforms that support independent artists in gaining exposure and developing their careers.
Nathan Green brought a different dynamic to the evening with his Mr Green’s Live Music Collective Band Showcase. Backed by a talented live band, the performance delivered an engaging and energetic set that highlighted the power of live musicianship.
Their performances added another dimension to the evening, demonstrating the versatility and collaborative spirit that thrives within the local music community.
The evening concluded with a special DJ set from BBC 1Xtra’s legendary Seani B. Bringing his wealth of experience, musical knowledge, and crowd-moving selections, Seani B ensured the event finished on a high note. His set provided a fitting conclusion to a day dedicated to celebrating music, culture, and creative opportunity.
